Kate & Lavshuca Winter '08
First, let me apologise for the delay in new posts this week as I've been busy moving house. We were supposed to rent a flat from a friend of a friend and everything had been settled with only the papers to be signed. Then, four days before we were supposed to move in, we met up with the landlord to get the keys and check the flat. To our horror, the landlord reneged on the agreement and so we were left scrambling to find a new place. Luckily, through another friend, we found another flat, which turned out not only to be 10 times nicer, cleaner and brighter, but was also nearer to town and the subway. All in all, everything worked out for the better and I'm much happier in my new place now :-)
Anyway, on to more makeup news! Kate and Lavshuca will be launching their winter collections on 1 November in Japan. Kate is introducing a new line of Gel Eyeshadows (892yen) in 8 shades, of which 3 are "deep shades" and 5 are "shimmery shades". The key feature of the Gel Eyeshadows is their ultra-long lasting formula. Unlike powder eyeshadows which usually fade or crease after a few hours of wear unless you use a good primer, these Gel Eyeshadows are made such that they do not fade or crease, but instead they retain their sparkle even with several hours of wear. The shades do look very similar to the cream eyeshadows by Coffret D'Or, which is not surprising given that both Kate and Coffret D'Or are owned by Kanebo. But I wish Kate would come up with more unusual colours such as those featured in Jill Stuart's Eye Jellies, which would be more befitting of Kate's edgy, glam rock chick image.
Lavshuca is introducing a new line of Stick Eyeshadows, also available in 8 shades in a convenient swivel-up twist packaging that is great for touch-ups on the go. These can be used both as eyeshadow or as eyeliner.
