Essence new nail polishes.
i bought some shades from the new range by Essence. they all look quite boring on the first sight, but all have nice effects, which is rather unexpected in this very affordable sector. i find from all new releases of the drugstore brands, Essence made the biggest step forward.
thanks to everyone who kept their fingers cross for me, because today i woke up to a sunny sky! yay swatch photography!
Nail Art Magnetics
these polishes have metallic ingredients that will align when you hold a magnet near it after application. i find the effects quite boring and ugly, but the base colours very interesting so i didn't get the appropriate magnets but two shades that look very nice.
they have long flat brushes and a creamy consistency. drying time is average. they contain 8ml and cost 1.95€.
#01 Miracle Shine!
this is a pewter colour with slight purple/green duochrome and a holographic effect. looks like Barry M Oyster Grey Dazzle Dust in a nail polish form ;)

it will dry with a matte finish, but a shiny top coat will amp it up again!
#02 Hex Hex
is a anthracite with silver, pink and blue microshimmers. looks like a light holographic effect. this polish will dry matte, but a glossy top coat will enliven it to its shimmery self.
Colour & Go
this is the colourful line of polishes. the small bottles contain 5ml, which is in fact quite cool, because most colourful polishes i won't ever finish and so i don't need like 15ml of a bright green. they have flat brushes and mostly a more liqudy and sheer texture. each cost 1.25€.
#43 Where Is The Party?
propably the most anticipated colour, it is a darker metallic polychrome which flashes between dark blue - teal - green - purple. it's not the same as the one from Catrice, although both are Cosnova brands. this one is quite sheer, you need at least 3 coats to get it opaque, but not as sheer as the Catrice one (Iron Mermaiden). the Essence version is darker and a perfect dupe for Zoya Ki polish.

#50 Irreplaceable
is a light sandy taupe base colour with a load of gold glitter. you know i like such colours ;)
#57 Can't Cheat On Me
a very fine silver holographic shade. very very very sheer, though. i needed 4-5 coats to make it opaque. so maybe some reformulation would be nice.
Nail Art Crackling Base Colour in #01 Sparkling Champagner
i thought you could use every colour underneath a crackling base? i don't know why they have explicit base colours for that, i find this only limits your creativity. but please let me state that i dislike this new crackling top coat trend. maybe just something for younger girls and "emily-the-strange-s".
but this colour is really nice, i bought it because it reminded me of the Chanel Pearl Drop nail polish i still haven't bought (but already have purchased multipe dupes for - maybe i would have saved some money if i had buy the original in the first place :P).
a subtle sheer colour with a soft golden pearl and white shimmer. i would only wear it in one sheer coat. this contains 8ml and costs 1.75€. it comes with a wide flat brush. the texture is perfect, not too thick or liquidy.
Nail Art Special Effect! Topper in #04 Mystic Mermaid
a sheer top coat with lots of fine silver shimmer and blue sparkles. this looks quite impressing, like a MAC Dazzleglass as nail polish or as if mixed with MAC Reflects Transparent Teal / Reflects Blue glitters. i think it would look good on dark blues and black. it has a wide flat brush and a liquidy texture (so it won't thicken your nail polish too much). it contains 8ml and costs 1.75€.
