Magazines Haul (AneCan, Steady, Marie Claire Taiwan)

Picked up a few magazines at Kinokuniya (Ngee Ann City) earlier this evening for the attractive freebies.

First up is the October issue of AneCan (S$20.20) which comes with a Juicy Couture "spa bag" and white plastic drawstring bag.

The spa bag has an unusual mesh bottom and a zipped middle compartment.

It's roomy enough to fit two novels.

I also picked up the October issue of Steady (S$16.70) which comes with a lace-print Rebecca Taylor small tote bag.

The bag is made of polyester and a pink inner lining.

Like the Juicy Couture spa bag, it has a zipped middle compartment.

The dimensions are very similar to the Juicy Couture spa bag.

Finally, I also got the September issue of Marie Claire (Taiwan) (S$14.60) as it comes with a Revlon Skinlights Bare It All Lotion 01 Buff Love (19g).

The ingredients list is printed in both Japanese and Chinese. According to the Revlon Japan website, this retails for 1890yen (about S$30) in Japan. The retail price in Taiwan is NT$520 (about S$22). Mix it with either foundation or moisturiser for a skin-perfecting glow. It can also be used on the décolletage. The expiry date is September 2011.

There were only about 5 copies of the Marie Claire left but more than 50 copies each of Steady and also InRed, which comes with two Marc Jacobs Daisy zip pouches.

Steady x HamburGirl

Picked up the new April issue of Steady magazine (S$16.40) at Kinokuniya in Bugis Junction today as it comes with a HamburGirl tote bag. Also pictured is the Liberty mook which I will write about in another post.

The tote has three pockets in front for convenient access and is made of polyester and PVC. The exterior is reflective and feels like a thin raincoat material while the interior has a purple lining. The tote is a bit small but still adorable with a lovely design.

Some HamburGirl accessories featured in the magazine.

The next issue of Steady will come with a Rebecca Taylor makeup pouch (9.5x19.5x6cm). Due out on 7 April in Japan.

The April issue of Sweet will come with a Jill Stuart Cafe pouch (18x24x7cm). Due out on 12 March.

Spring & Spur April 2010

Picked up the April issues of Spur (S$21) and Spring (S$15.50) today at Kinokuniya. Spur comes with a Rebecca Taylor retro floral print tote while Spring comes with a Jill Stuart tote bag.

The Rebecca Taylor tote is slightly larger at 24.5x34x12cm and can fit the Spur magazine just nicely while the Jill Stuart tote measures 32x21x11cm and is a bit too small to hold the Spring magazine.

The Jill Stuart tote is made of a mix of cotton canvas and shiny polyester.

This tote is roomy enough to fit 3 or 4 drink bottles.

The Rebecca Taylor tote is made wholly of shiny polyester material and has no internal pockets. I think this bag print is cuter compared to the Jill Stuart. It's been quite awhile since any Japanese magazines had a Rebecca Taylor accessory item so I decided to splurge on this even though the mag is very pricey.

There were plenty of copies of both mags when I was at Kinokuniya (Ngee Ann City) this evening at 7pm+. You can get a 10% discount with the Kino membership card.

Mooks/Mags Haul

My copies of InRed,Steady, the Gelato Pique mook arrived today courtesy of a friend in Japan. I also picked up the new Rebecca Taylor 2009 Fall/Winter mook (S$31.40) from Kinokuniya (Ngee Ann City).

This is the first ever Gelato Pique mook and I'm happy to say that it does not disappoint. The soft cotton tote bag has a cute deer/rabbit/squirrel print and is roomy enough to fit the mook itself. There is also a flap pocket inside.

The scrunchie (made of polyester) is not as fluffy and thick as the one that came with a recent issue of Spring magazine but it feels incredibly soft.

I was also very happy with the Rebecca Taylor mook. The grey leopard print tote bag is slightly larger than the Gelato Pique tote. It is made of felt material, which makes for a nice change from the usual cloth or polyesther totes. The interior is lined with pink polyester and has no pockets.

Like the last Rebecca Taylor mook, the bag comes with a pink plastic cat charm with pink and silver glitter. There were less than 10 copies of this mook at Kino, probably because Rebecca Taylor is not very well-known in Singapore (although Tangs Orchard carries a small selection of its clothes at its Tang+Co section).

The Agnes B. lunch tote bag is really tiny! Granted it can fit a lunch box, but I really don't see myself using this often as it's just too small. It is cute but I wouldn't queue up for two hours just to buy it. There are a few bags with the same print currently at the Agnes B. stores in Singapore.

The Marc Jacobs Daisy zip pouches and steel bangles that came with InRed are probably the best freebie I've ever seen from InRed, which is a magazine targeted at ladies in their 30s. The pouches are made of polyester and have a nice solid shape, unlike some of the more flimsy pouches that are given away with Japanese mags. Daisy also happens to be one of my favourite fragrances :-)
