my treasure chest - favourite jewellery
in this post i want to show you some pieces that i really love and always wear.
first is my watch. i am a watch-person. even as i was a kid, i often wished for a nice one for christmas ( i remember a neon-orange Casio baby-G watch kekeke).
this is a model from Gucci, i got it as a gift for my a-levels from my parents 5 years ago.
i really always do wear it, i like its graphic and not-feminine-at-all look and that it fits quite loose.
my next lemmings are a black Swatch with minimalistic pink dial and a Rado Sintra Automatic Jubilé timepiece.
this is a little brilliant in white gold. i wear it on a short white gold necklace.
i got it for my 18th birthday and never take it off. ok, i do for sauna. and if it doesn't fit with other opulent pieces/gold jewellery for going out. but otherwise never.
as it is so discreet, i can even wear it at work to the hospital. it's classic so it goes with almost every outfit. and it is so delicate that i can easily layer it wih other necklaces.
otherwise i quite seldom wear more jewellery, first because i work in a clinical environment, second and for the most part, because i'm a big big forget-head. but if i do remember to put on some bling, i mostly pair my every-day pieces with some costume jewellery. here are some i use more often:
this little silver chain is really cute, i bought it in the children's jewellery section as a funny statement against all the Tiffany-Key-hype (i find them too bulky, they look like real cellar chains haha ;) unless you buy the 10K$ version with diamonds all over) |
this ring i got from my mom, it's heavy 99,99% gold with a jade cabochon.
i really like this piece to mix with puristic/minimalistic and plain outfits as it would grab the attention. it also brings a vintage-asia-feel with it with the big jade, the pure gold and its raw workmanship.
and these are the LONELYBOYS, they have lost their other half and are still crying their pillows wet. ;)
have you also lost one of your earrings? i often do, as you can see, and these here are just the more lamented losts...
next are my rings from the fabulous unlimitedelizabeth: she crafts each by hand and uses big swarovski beads and wire. they are REALLY blingy but don't look too much at all and still stay delicate.
the swarovski crystal beads always catch the light the most beautiful way and appear as clear and brilliant eye-catchers on your hands. they give every simple look the special something, that's great for me because i never go for complicated, elaborated outfits. everytime i wear one of them, i get questions about my special ring :)
she sells these rings (other styles and colours also available) at 29$ a piece on her blog.
i went for 3 because i couldn't decide which i'd like best, but i wear the aurora boreale crystal (the clear one) most often. its multicolored reflections and the silver wire go with every outfit and every nail polish colour and most of my other jewellery.
worn, they look like this:
