Canmake Cream Highlighter
Spotted this Canmake display at the Watsons store in IMM earlier today. While it doesn't have the newest limited edition Cream Cheek #9 (which you can see on Makeupstash.com), I was delighted to find the new Cream Highlighter (S$17.90) snuggled in the centre of the display.
Yumeko (A Dream of Tokyo) had mentioned it to me over Twitter just recently. It is limited edition and comes in only one shade, 01 Crystal Pink, described as a "pale girly pink white with pink pearl". It comes in the same fuss-free clear plastic packaging as the Cream Cheeks.
The leaflet suggests two ways of using it. After applying the Cream Cheek blush, you can apply the Cream Highlighter around the edges of the blush for a natural glowy effect. You can also applying it very sparingly on the nose bridge by dotting it on (rather than in one heavy vertical swipe) and blending.
The texture is similar to that of the Cream Cheek blushes. The cream is very lightweight and does not feel greasy at all. Instead, it glides on to the skin effortlessly and can be easily sheered out, transforming to a smooth powder finish.
The higlighting effect is quite subtle as there is no chunky glitter. Under the bright store lights, you can see a sprinkling of delicate sparkles but under normal light, the effect is more subdued. The highlighter will be useful for helping to perk up tired dull skin.
Unfortunately, as it is a new product, it is not eligible for the 20% discount that Watsons currently has for Canmake. The price here is exorbitant compared to Japan where it sells for just 609yen (about S$9.50). However, as the Cream Highlighter is limited edition, it is probably difficult to track down now in Japan.
