Giorgio Armani Lasting Silk UV Foundation

Inspired by extreme backstage conditions, Giorgio Armani Lasting Silk UV Foundation (US$59) SPF20 is touted as a "revolutionary new water-based foundation [that] provides 14-hour luminous matte coverage without the coverage feel". According to the Armani website, "the secret of Lasting Silk lies in a special high tech Microfil fine milling process that combines water essence, micronised optical effect particles high tech fitting silk and micro blend luminous pigments. These components morph into a barely perceivable seamless silk veil of infallible semi matte color that dresses the skin’s contours to perfection."

I actually purchased this last June but never got around to writing a proper review. As Lasting Silk UV was supposed to replace Hydra Glow, I was hoping that it would help to correct skin dullness while providing long lasting wear. The semi matte satin finish has more of a sheen than Suqqu Frame Fix Liquid Foundation.

Although it provided decent coverage and blended very easily to a smooth, lightweight finish, it didn't control oil as well as Suqqu Frame Fix. I had to blot pretty much hourly with this. Lasting Silk UV is probably more suitable for normal to dry skintypes rather than oily skintypes like mine. I'm using #5, which turned out to be a tad yellow for me so I'll probably pass this on to my mother as she has dry skin and is slightly more tanned.

The other products that I used for this look are: Shu Uemura Bowwow Magic Queen Palette and Face Powder Sheer Colorless, Urban Decay Primer Potion, K-Palette Real Lasting Eyebrow 02, Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner, Esprique Precious True Black Mascara WP (Volume Separate) and Chantecaille Lip Chic in Heirloom.

I'm afraid I don't have the ingredients list as I discarded the box a long time ago. The active ingredients are listed as octinoxate (3%) and titanium dioxide (6.2%).
