Best Things in Beauty : NARS Dogon

NARS Dogon Eyeshadow Duo is part of their summer collection and i ordered mine on hqhair.com when they had a 5£-off voucher around plus free shipping so it was quite a good deal. it contains 4g and (normally) costs 23.50£.
the lighter shade in Dogon is really special and unique, it's a warm rosy taupe with a minty green shimmer and sheen that creates sort of a duochrome effect (i remember i once own a similar shadow many years ago, but can't remember which brand it was). it has a silky and very fine texture and applies rather sheer but the effect is very apparent. especially when layered over a darker shade (mainly the other part of this duo ;)) it shows a gorgeous mermaid-y pearly shimmer.
the dark shadow is a matte charcoal black with lots of very fine teal shimmer. blended out, the shimmer is not very visible but for example when used wet as a liner it has a subtle teal sheen which is just beautiful. otherwise this is a good shade to darken your outer corner generally. it's very fine and highly pigmented and applies evenly without (!) any fall outs which really surprised me. blends out easily, too.
both shades together work so well to create a smokey eye with a colourful twist, but i also like to use them combined with other shadows. for example the light shades also looks great with a dark indigo blue.
like with most other NARS eyeshadows, i don't have any problem with the staying power with these.

this is how it looks worn:

the light shade on the inner half of the lid and on the lower lashline, the dark shade in the outer V. i especially like the part where the light duochrome-y shade blends over the dark shade.

comparison

for those of you who wanted a comparison between Rajasthan and Dogon duo: i think they're not similar at all and i prefer Rajasthan (i LOVE the golden taupe in this duo. LOVE.) because i think it's more versatile (warmer shade + cool shade vs. cool + cool).

for the light shade in Dogon i have no lookalike in my stash.
