Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Silk Eyeshadow #2 Lust Red.
Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Silk Eyeshadow in #2 Lust Red was not on my wishlist initially, but reading rave reviews with gorgeous swatches over and over didn't help me to stay away from it really... ;)
i purchased it some time ago on douglas.de and also got some nice samples with my order. it costs 29.95€ and contains 4g.
you know i'm a big fan of GA's Eyes To Kill Silk Eyeshadows, now my collection is almost complete with my desired shades (only #5 and #15 missing ;)) - see reviews for #1 here, #3 here, #4 here, #6 here and #9 here.
these shadows are semi powder, semi cream formula since they are dry to the touch, but feel somewhat cool and creamy since they're so smooth and fine just like cream eyeshadows. they look like loosely pressed crumbles with a mix of different colours. the product comes in a glass pot but has a little plastic insert between eyeshadow and lid as a protection against drying out or getting loose.
#2 Lust Red is a mixture of shimmery black base colour with rich berry red sprinkles. the mixed colour is a black base with very fine pink and blue pearl shimmer and reddish pink sparkle bits. compared to my other shade, this is the darkest and the least shimmery and metallic. it blends out as a smokey blackish plum with subtle multicolour shimmer and is a great colour for a dramatic but unconventional smokey eye but also more sheerly as a colour for the crease and outer corner when you like it a bit softer.
to unleash the metallic pink shimmer though, this colour needs to be used wet. i just tried the harmless version, wetting it for the use as eyeliner, but i guess it would look beautiful foiled onto the center of the lids when you create a dark smokey eye using Lust Red dry on the rest of the lids.
this shade has an intense pigmentation and is the perfect colour for a night out, i'm glad that the black is dominant and doesn't let the red/pink make me appear sore-eyed.
it has the same fine texture like the other shades, it feels a bit drier than those, though. it blends easily but there will be a fine stubborn fall out that will create a dark grey cast underneath your eyes, i would recommend you doing the eye makeup prior to your foundation/concealer routine when you're going for an intense look so you can clean up properly.
this colour lasts just as well on my oily lids like the other shades, even without primer.

the Hourglass eyeshadow is even darker and more intense than the Armani, but also less shimmery.
