Chance Encounter with Urban Decay International Makeup Artist Eric Jimenez
Kas, Amy (of Purplio Voyage) and I made a trip down to the Sephora at Ion this afternoon to check out the newly launched UK bodycare brand Soap & Glory. To our surprise, Urban Decay International Makeup Artist Eric Jimenez was in the store! He was visiting Singapore again for a workshop at Sephora (his third trip here this year) and just in time to witness the highly sought after Naked palette selling out in a flash.
I was excited to see him as I had enjoyed his Master Class immensely back in April when Urban Decay was first launched in Singapore (you can read about it here and here). I asked Kas if she thought we could ask to take a photo with him and she was like, "Go ask him!" Then as Eric started walking away, Kas was like, "Oy, take out your camera!" We started trailing after him and then Kas, obviously impatient with me at this point, took out her camera but by then, Eric had gone into the back of the store. Fortunately, a very kind Sephora SA saw all this and graciously offered to help us go ask Eric. A quick minute later, Eric came out to chat with us and was as usual, extremely warm and personable.
He was pleased with Urban Decay's great success in Singapore and excited about the slate of new products that Urban Decay had lined up for the rest of the year and 2011. These include the temporary body tattoos, the Black Palette, Primer Potion Professional Size (in the squeeze tube), a HD foundation, a big box of pencils, a Midnight Cowboy set and more Books of Shadows!
(Thanks to Amy for the photo above!)
We told him about how we had ordered the Book of Shadows Vol. III NYC from the UK and loved it. He gave us a tip for applying the glitter fallout-prone Midnight Cowboy Rides Again: use a brush spritzed with All Nighter Long Lasting Makeup Spray.
Eric will be back in Singapore again in November and he promised to bring special gifts. Do keep a watch on the Sephora Facebook page closer to November for details of how to attend his workshops. Wonder if that will be timed with the release of the Book of Shadows Vol. III?
