MAC Superslick Liquid Eye Liner Marked For Glamour
At the MAC Fabulous Felines event yesterday, I received three of the new Superslick Liquid Eye Liners in Marked by Glamour, Nocturnal and Signature Blue.
The eyeliners retail at S$35 each and are limited edition with nine shades in total. These have been receiving positive reviews online for their lovely metallic intensity and incredible lasting power.
The unusual feature of the eyeliners is the tapered felt tip applicator instead of the usual brush. Surprisingly, this actually proved quite easy to manoeuvre. As the applicator tip is well coated in the liquid (but not to the extent that it is dripping messily), the application tends to be intense from the very first layer.
Whereas brushes applicators can sometimes get messy if the bristles splay unpredictably, the Superslick applicator offers good control and it was very easy to create a smooth straight line tapering to a fine tip at the outer corners. When applying the eyeliner on your upper eyelid, it's best to tilt your head backwards rather than tug your eyelid upwards with a fingertip. When applying to your lower eyelid, just do the opposite and tilt your forehead towards the mirror.
The eyeliner does take a couple of minutes to dry so it's best to avoid blinking vigorously while it is still drying. Once it dries, it does not budge, smudge or flake. The only slight drawback is that I could actually feel the eyeliner on my lid, though not in an uncomfortable way.
The eyeliner was easy to remove with Lancome Bifacil, and comes off in small metallic pieces.
Do check out Sarah's post for swatches of more of the eyeliners.
