NOTD Chanel Riviera Dupe
this is a franken-polish i did to dupe Chanel's Riviera polish from their summer 2010 look. it seemed to be the perfect hot pink for me - bright but still very wearable. i can still kick my *ss because i didn't buy it. i was reasonable (i hate reasonable!).
i had a blop of riviera on a white plastic bag - so at home i compared it to my 1001 pink polishes but none seemed to be a dupe.
i had do fix it myself. i used the Essence Colour&Go polish in "#19 - VIP Appeal" as the base colour, which was the same depth of pink but it was not perfect - it was brighter and more blue-toned than Riviera.
Riviera is a hot bright pink, but at the same time a little bit warm and a little bit muted, that's why it's so wearable for me.
so i mixed some drops of a cream light grey polish, some drops of a muted nude polish ( i think i used OPI Tickle My France-y), and some drops of a cream yellow polish - and it was perfect! the perfect deep pink that blends into my skintone.
i love this colour and used half of the bottle now - starting to get fear of loss. sadly this Essence polish is discontinued now, so i don't even have a base to mix it again :((
the texture is great, wearing time about 3-4 days.
here i used two coats of it with Essie Good To Go as top coat.
