Illamasqua nail polish haul
yesterday, my order from asos.com with this set of nail polishes arrived (and a NARS eyeshadow duo in the wrong colour ARGH!), it contains the colours Scarab (the red one) and Viridian (the teal).
these are my first Illamasqua polishes. both shades were released as limited edition with last year's Art Of Darkness collection, of which i already had the loose pigment in Ore (i showed you here). normally a bottle would cost 13£, which are quite much but they were offered for 16£ for both and then marked down to 11£ for both, so of course i couldn't resist such a bargain.
each bottle contains 15ml and has a take-off cap and a small thin brush.
the bottle design is very beautiful.
i'm sure you've seen lots of swatches everywhere when they were brand new released, but as this is such a bargain chance, i'll show you once more. maybe you can still get it. with the free delivery from asos that's great!!!
the set came in a nice bag from Illamasqua, filled with black silk-paper.
Scarab
is a dark dark shimmering red, it looks very rich and glowy. in some angles it has some gold in it, in some angles it appears more berry. the texture is great, not too creamy and applies evenly, though it can get a little bit streaky due to the metallic shimmers. i would recommend 2 coats with this.
Viridian
is a dark shimmering blue-green duochrome, like from a mallard duck's plumage, really beautiful. on the nail i like it less than in the bottle. texture is as great as of the Scarab shade, but it seems to dry so quick that you should be fast with application to get an even surface. in artificial light it looks more blue, while the green shimmers are stronger in natural light.
