foundation overview #12: Chanel Innocence.
i bought the Chanel Innocence foundation about a month ago because i heard so many great reviews about it and wanted to try it before the remaining stocks were completely gone (since it was discontinued this year). i'm not the type of finding the perfect foundation and use up bottle over bottle, so i'm not that afraid of finding a holy grail and losing it at the same time. i rather have 10 different but great foundations around, and anyway, there will always be a newer, better foundation (released) ;)
now to the foundation itself: 30ml did cost 37,95€ (so it was the rather affordable amongst Chanel's foundations).
it comes in a squat bottle (same design like their Soleil Tan de Chanel Sheer Illuminating Fluid) without a pump. that is quite inconvenient, since the small opening combined with the wide bottle makes the foundation dropping out of the bottle very slowly (i think this will be much more annoying when the bottle is nearly empty) and placement is rather imprecise.
the foundation has an intense jasmine scent which still clings on your face for a while after application, so it's probably not suited for very sensitive skins and noses. it has an spf of 12.
its consistency is thick and creamy but it blends easily. applying with the BeautyBlender and the fingers gave me the same results, but the consistency is better suited for brush or finger application rather than with a sponge.
it doesn't feel thick but very moisturising and nourishing. it provides a light to medium coverage and hides my redness and imperfections well. it gives a very natural finish with a satin sheen on your skin. it dries to a non sticky finish and makes my skin feel soft and look refined and glowy.
you can see very fine gold shimmer in the bottle but it isn't visible at all on your face. it just creates a subtle illuminating effect.
i bought the shade #20 Clair, a very yellowish light beige, which is a good match for my skin (NC20-25 in MAC) and is a tad bit lighter than the #20 Clair of Chanel's Pro Lumiere foundation. it doesn't oxidise much or gets orange on me.
the foundation lasts well on my oily skin, i get quite shiny around the 5-6 hour mark before it wears off after 7-8 hours.
all in all i think this is a really nice foundation (they could have done the packaging a lot better), i like it much better than the Pro Lumiere and i think the finish is much nicer than their Vitalumiere Aqua. i'm excited about the new Chanel foundation that will be released soon...

on bare skin, no concealer, no powder but brows done. very very bad skin right now, so no "without" photo (but imagine how well it covers ;))
