RMK Sheer Powder Cheeks EX01 Beige Pink
RMK Sheer Powder Cheeks EX01 Beige Pink (S$65; 2g) is one of three new limited edition blushes from the RMK Dusty Bright Colors collection, which is now available at Isetan Scotts and Takashimaya in Singapore. RMK blushes have an unusual texture that feels very creamy and velvety. They are not cream blushes in the traditional sense but they also do not feel as dry as the usual powder or baked mineral blushes. The "Moist Granulation" formula contains a special oil that helps the blushes to glide on for a perfect, slightly lustrous finish. You can see swatches of the three blushes on Elaine's blog.
I like the sleek metal compact which has a generously sized mirror under the lid. The exterior also doubles up as another mirror. The case can be a bit of a fingerprint magnet but not excessively so. The brush is also of a good size and feels wonderfully soft against the skin. RMK's natural hair brush applicators are among the most luxurious that I've used.
Beige Pink gives my cheeks a natural, healthy tint of color in just a couple of sweeps of the brush. The shade works well for me as it is easy to apply and blend, plus it does not accentuate the redness in my cheeks. It has a very soft glowy finish without crossing into frosty territory. It stayed quite well on my cheeks over seven hours of wear, including getting caught in the rain for a good 10 minutes.
For this look, I also used RMK Gloss Lips N P-10 Red (also from the Dusty Bright Colors collection), Addiction Tinted Moisturiser #1, the Body Shop Extra Virgin Minerals 102 Natural Ivory, Shiseido Automatic Fine Eyeliner, Shu Uemura ME471 and G White Gold, Lancome Ultra Lavande palette, K-Palette Lasting 2-Way Eyebrow 01 and Etude House Henna Fix Proof 10 Mascara 01 Volume.
I picked up the Shu Uemura eyeshadows to fill up my Prima Palette case from the Novadiva collection. I like using the G White Gold along the lower lashline and inner corners for an illuminating effect. It stayed on quite well too without falling all over my cheeks. Being a glitter shade, the texture is not as velvety and smooth as the ME471 (which is a metallic shade).
