nail polish collection/nail art tips.

i have quite an extensive selection of nail colours for someone who only sports the solid-nail-colour-look, no stamping, no stickers or any designs. i have previously shown colour-focus swatch series and my nail wheels, but the newest gimmick to organize and keep an overview of my collection are these nail art tips i want to show you today.
you can buy them for really cheap on ebay.com, i think i bought mine at less than 3€ for 50 sticks with free shipping. just search for the tags "nail art tips display stick" and you will get quite a specific selection. prepare for very long waiting times, though ;)
i chose the milky ones since my clear nail wheels made all polishes end up with a matte finish, so i was afraid it's the same material.
i got 300 nail tips and needed quite a few hours to paint them altogether. you need to label them with the particular polish name, paint each with 2 coats and the most time consuming part for me was to organize them into a nice graduation of colours.
but i loved to do that, even as a child i always wanted to buy the biggest set of coloured pencils/liners to do that colour organization thing in my pencil case ;) it's just somewhat therapeutical and calming to think about which colour would flow best into the next and to look at the colours melting into each other afterwards...
with over 250 different colours though, it's quite some work to do if you threaded them altogether and then decide (several times) that this one particular colour needs to go somewhere else ;D well, i was relieved when i finished, and just loved to play around with the result.
i think the big plus with these compared to nail wheels or individual nail tips (that don't have a stick) is, that you can easily compare colours next to each other and have the product names right there. i always had to number the wheels since the names don't fit on there and needed to keep a list of the names. with the individual tips it was impossible to keep an overview and i only kept those for single use, comparison swatches etc. since i'd have to repaint colours onto a new wheel if i wanted to do an exact colour comparison.
now, comparison and colour coordination are very quick and easy.
