quick FOTD with Chanel Illusoire & MAC Dainty.

i need some time to write proper reviews, so just a quick recent FOTD, easy peasy but not too boring ;)

for the face i used:

foundation: Rimmel Match Perfection in 100 Ivory (1 - review), applied with the BeautyBlender (2 - review)

powder: Guerlain Météorites Pearls in #1 Teint Rosé (3 - review), applied with Le Métier de Beauté Powder Brush (4 - review)

concealer: Edward Bess Platinum Concealer in Soft Beige (5 - review), applied with Hakuhodo 212 Highlighter Brush (6 - review)

blush: MAC Mineralize Blush in Dainty (7), applied with MakeUpShow Blush Brush H02 (8 - review)

for the eyes:

brows: Shiseido Brow Pencil in GY901 Natural Black (1)

eye make up: UDPP (2), then Chanel #83 Illusoire (3 - review) on the entire lid, applied with MAC 242 (5) and blended out with Edward Bess Lurxury Eye Brush (6 - review).
on the lower lashline Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Intense Eyeshadow #6 (4 - review), applied with MAC 242.
Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler (7), Maybelline Volum' Express False Lashes Waterproof (8) as first layer, Shiseido The Perfect Mascara (9 - sample size) as top layer.

lips: Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss in #56 Imaginaire (10 - review)

this is a simple but blingy eye make up look, i like how it glistens and how the Chanel eyeshadow develops an almost glossy sheen over time without creeping into the crease.

Shiseido Luminizing Satin Face Color in BE 206 Soft Beam Gold

i bought this Luminizing Satin Face Color blush by Shiseido in the shade BE 206 Soft Beam Gold after hearing some good opinions about it, i wanted to try Shiseido blushes for a long time. it was intended to be used as highlighter. there is also a white shade, High Beam White, but i chose the gold one (sight unseen) because i was afraid the white one could be too cool for my colouring or would be something similar to NARS Albatross (which i'm not fond of). i ordered it on douglas.de, again with a 5€-off-coupon.
it contains 6.5g and costs 36.95€.

it's in a sleek and simple black packaging without a velvet pouch. it has a big mirror inside and includes a very nice little soft brush of natural hair.
the powder itself is of a dark warm gold colour, it even reminds me of yellow curry or mustard. it has no visible shimmer on the surface, so nothing for you if you're on the hunt for an intense highlight powder. swatching it it's incredibly finely milled and applies very silky, i have always thought much of Shiseido textures and was never disappointed. it's not shimmery at all but has such a fine natural sheen, it's different from all my other highlighting products. the sheen is so refined and subtle that you could easily use this powder on bigger areas than your normal highlight or even all over the face as a finishing powder for a polished look, before blush. it makes my skin feel velvety and soft. it doesn't have a distinct scent, maybe a very light fresh herbal scent, but maybe i'm wrong.
sadly the colour still is too deep for me, it will give some colour to my cheeks - and i don't really like the colour it creates... it would look great on deeper skin tones if the colour melts in with your complexion. i think nc30+ girls would love this, it's an excellent product. i'm looking forward to use it in the summer when i'm tanned.

Shiseido Soft Beam Gold in sunlight: swatched heavily & blended out

and this is how it looks applied, i used it on the top of my cheekbones.

Shiseido lipsticks #2 - one more sampler card.

after swatching the last sample card i remembered that i have one more of these lipstick samples by Shiseido which i got some months ago. i took it out of the depths of my sample basket and noticed that it was different from the one i have just showed you - so here are more lip swatches from 4 more Shiseido lipstick shades, this time from the normal Rouge Parfait/Perfect Rouge line. Shiseido lipsticks are 24.95€ each.
just now i notice, that there is one similar shade in both sampler cards, the intense red shade.

RD 514 is a rich cool toned red from the classic lipstick line. it doesn't contain shimmer. it applies creamy and is opaque in 2 layers. it wears very well without accentuating or bleeding into fine lines. it doesn't dry out my lips but also isn't moisturising. the finish has some creamy sheen to it so it doesn't look dry.
this is the same shade like i have showed you last time. but applying it, i didn't recognize it and thought this would be a darker shade and more bloody red. maybe it's because this time i photographed in the shadow.
a beautiful glamourous red that doesn't make me look older. it would look great with a super pale and glowy, heavily pale-gold highlighted, porcellain complexion (i may try this look soon to show you...).

BE 208 is a muted peachy nude. it's shimmer-free and applies rather sheer with a light sheen. it feels light on your lips, but the creaminess is a bit weird even though very smooth, it may be a bit slippery and needs to be re-applied more often, like a sheer lipstick. i find it ok, not too pale and it doesn't wash me out. it's a good everyday nude for nude lip-fans, but for me a bit too light.

PK 417 is a bright strawberry pink with fine golden shimmer bits, it looks fantastic in the little pan. i find the consistency lighter than with the other shades, it also applies and feels best of the bunch. this is a shade i would get thanks to the tester card. it looks juicy and soft on my lips, exciting but not heavy. and the fine golden shimmer is just beautiful in sunlight (i wished it would be more visible generally). a great bright for the summer.

PK 307 is a cool toned mauvey pink without shimmer. it has a creamy consistency and feels moisturising and lightweight. a nice understated shade that freshens up your lips but doesn't draw too much attention.

i love to get lipstick samples. it makes the choice much easier if you can apply a fresh and hygienic (!) tester at home so you get the consistency better, can see it in different light conditions, can prep your lips before application... all in all much better than to swatch at the counters especially for a non-lip-person like me.

Shiseido lipsticks.

i got this sample card of 4 different Shiseido lipsticks with my last douglas.de order. so i thought i could swatch them for you to see... i think i haven't tried Shiseido lipsticks before (other than some swatching at the counter). i don't like their numbering system, it's seems hard to remember.
the sample card comes with a mini lip brush that i haven't used yet.

RD514 is a rich cool toned red from the classic lipstick line. it doesn't contain shimmer. it applies creamy and is opaque in 2 layers. it wears very well without accentuating or bleeding into fine lines. it doesn't dry out my lips but also isn't moisturising. i had it on my lips for only 2-3 hours, then removed to swatch the next shades, so i can't say so much about staying power.

PK224 is from the Glowing Matte line. it's a warm peachy pink without shimmer and has a satin finish. it's quite sheer, so not really dead-matte but a nice natural wash of colour. it's like a brightened up natural lip on me. the satin matte finish makes it blending into my lip texture seamlessly, making me look like i don't wear anything at all. the texture is very silicony, remembers me of the recent P2 blush sticks, and quite drying. otherwise it would be a great indetectable lip brightener.

RD722 is also from the Glowing Matte Range. it's a cool toned beigy-mauve which (combined with that matte finish) can make me look sick and corpse-like if i don't pair it with a bright blusher.

RS326 is a Tender Sheer lipstick. it's a blueish mauvey pink without shimmer. it's fairly sheer and very creamy and feels very light and moisturising on my lips. it has a shiny finish and makes my lips look soft and tender. it lasts on me about 2h. my favourite texture out of the bunch, definitely a line worth checking out.  i find the texture better than from the new Chanel or Dior sheer lippies.

it's great to get such samples, i think the cosmetic companies would do well by producing more of these. i will get the fourth lipstick out of this bunch thanks to the testing card. otherwise i wouldn't have noticed it. Shiseido lipsticks cost 24.95€ each.

have you often bought full size products after trying out samples that you randomly got (without asking for it, i mean)?
