Paul Frank Lip Smacker Sets
Looking for cute holiday gifts that won't break the bank? Starting this Thursday, Watsons in Singapore will be stocking these Paul Frank Lip Smacker gift sets.
Featuring Julius the monkey, Worry Bear and Clancy, there are four Lip Smackers available either in a set of three in a metal tin or in a set of four with a zip pouch. The set with the black bag is the Julius & Friends Collection Bag while the one below is the Forever Friends Collection Bags.
The This Just Tin Lip Gloss Collection will retail at S$14.90.
Lip Smacker is a popular US brand of lipglosses by Bonne Bell. For many ladies, Lip Smackers were the first lipglosses that they owned due to its easy affordability, convenient packaging and diverse variety of more than 300 flavours. Plus it looks more like a lip balm than a lipgloss, so it doesn't feel like grown-up makeup.
Here's the ingredients list.
I received the Julius & Friends Collection set to review. The red handle attached to the zip of the pouch is a tad thin and flimsy but the main body of the pouch feels quite well made with a separate inner black lining.
The back of the pouch.
This set includes all four Paul Frank Lip Smackers, each with a different scent.
The stick Lip Smackers (4g each) are Julius Coconut Cream and Clancy's Cotton Candy. I've only tried Clancy's Cotton Candy so far. It glides on quite easily and wears very comfortably on the lips without any greasiness or stickiness. It gives the lips a light glossy sheen and lasts well over four hours without gunking up at the outer corners or inner part of the lips. The scent is quite strong when you sniff it in the tube but it becomes virtually undetectable after being applied on the lips. There is also no discernible taste, which I prefer as flavoured lipglosses tend to make me lick my lips more frequently.
The colourless liquid version is Worry Bear's Honey Sweet (2.8ml) which has a slanted doe-foot sponge applicator. This has the least amount of product compared to the other three Lip Smackers.
Julius' Strawberry Banana is a Squeezy Lip Smacker in clear light pink.
The quirky packaging and fruity scents make these sets great gifts for teens and the young at heart. The Paul Frank Lip Smackers will only be available at selected Watsons stores from 18 November to 29 December (or while stocks last) so don't wait too long to snag one of these!
