Sentimental Circus stationery

At Raffles City yesterday, I chanced across a Sentimental Circus display at the NBC stationery store in the basement (near Gong Cha). Kinokuniya stocks some of the stationery like the letter sets and plastic folders but NBC has a much more comprehensive line-up including lanyards, pencil cases, pouches, bags, keychain accessories, sticker tabs, notebooks etc. NBC is also giving away a Sentimental Circus paper bag with every purchase.

Sentimental Circus is a relatively new set of characters by San-x. The main character is Shappo, the circus team leader, supported by others such as Leo, Mr Bear, Kuro (the black cat), Pony, Muton (blue elephant), Toto, Piyo Ballerina sisters, Pig & Mamo. Each character has a special skill, e.g. Toto is a juggler, Pony jumps hurdles, Mr Bear rides a bicycle and Muton plays the music.


The magazine holders are $7.70 each in two designs while the smaller stationery holders are $4.80 each in three designs. What I liked about the holders is that they feature different designs on all four sides.




I also picked up another letter set ($7.30) which includes 16 envelopes and 32 sheets of letter paper in 4 designs. Just looking at these whimsical characters romping about always makes one smile :-)
