L'Oreal HIP Bright Shadow Duo Showy and Flamboyant
I tried out the L'Oreal HIP Bright Eyeshadow Duos in Flamboyant and Showy today. Both duos have a shimmery metallic shade and a semi-matte shade that has a sprinkling of micro-sparkles that are visible only when viewed up close.
After prepping with Testimo Eye Bright Up Base, I applied a light beige shade from a Lunasol palette over the browbone area, at the inner corners. I used the sponge applicator to apply the shimmery teal blue shade from the inner corner to the middle of the lid and along the lower lashline, and the medium blue shade at the outer corners. Next, I used a brush to blend the purple shade from Flamboyant very lightly just above the outer crease and then finished with the HIP Color Chrome Eyeliner Showy Black and Clinique High Impact Mascara.
The pic above was taken at 8am while the pic below was taken at 7pm. There was some creasing at the inner corners but this usually happens whenever I use the Testimo primer. The rest of the eyeshadows lasted quite well.
The sponge applicator is hidden in the bottom compartment. It took a few tries to open the container until I figured out that the easiest way to open it was to use the fleshy part of the thumb to push the cap upwards.
The shimmery teal blue in Showy reminded me immediately of MAC's famous Parrot eyeshadow. Here's a side-by-side comparison. Overall, I found the shades in both Showy and Flamboyant had good colour payoff, applied true to how they look in the pan and were easy to blend. The Color Chrome Eyeliner was also well pigmented but ultimately, I still prefer my usual liquid eyeliner which is faster to apply and more precise without the need for sharpening.
For the rest of the look, I used Shiseido Refining Makeup Primer, Dior X4 Control Compact Foundation 012, RMK Super Basic Liquid Concealer EX01, Paul & Joe Face Color 07, Lipstick #18 and Loose Powder, and K-Palette Real Lasting Eyebrow 01.
The L'Oreal HIP Bright Shadow Duos are a good way to add some vibrant colours to your eyeshadow collection and experiment with various combinations. And at S$18.90 each, these won't break the bank.
