L'Oreal Youth Code and Perfect Clean Bloggers Event
This morning, I attended a bloggers' brunch organised by L'Oreal to showcase their new Youth Code and Perfect Clean lines.
Perfect Clean is a line of four facial cleansers that come with their own special silicone scrublet. This is actually the European version of the Go 360 Clean cleansers that are available in the US. The packaging of the Perfect Clean cleansers is different from that of the Go 360 Clean. (You can see pics of the Go 360 Clean Deep Facial Cleanser on Shine, Shimmer & Sparkle). The Perfect Clean cleansers, which are retailing at S$14.90 each, are manufactured in Germany while the Go 360 Clean cleansers are made in the USA.
There are four cleansers to suit various skin types as detailed in the pic above. The Purifying Foaming Gel Wash (white), Refreshing Foaming Gel Wash (blue) and Foaming Gentle Scrub (orange) contain salicylic acid, which helps to combat acne, while the Soothing Foaming Cream Wash (pink) has shea butter glycerides to help moisturise the skin. The Foaming Gentle Scrub also contains apricot seed powder.
The scrublet has 500 super-soft points to help create a foamy lather and provide a deep cleanse. One cute feature of the scrublet is that you can actually stick it on the wall to dry thanks to the suction thingy at the end of the handle!
Singapore is actually the first country in Asia to launch the Youth Code collection which has been doing very well in Europe. The collection consists of a Rejuvenating Anti-wrinkle Concentrate (S$45.90), Eye Cream and a Day Cream. All the Youth Code products are also made in Germany.
Similar to the Genefique line by Lancome (which is L'Oreal's more upmarket sister brand), the Youth Code range is based on ten years of research into genes, in particular the differences in gene expression between young and mature skin.
The products are designed for ladies whose skin is looking dull and tired due to the multiple stresses of modern urban life. The patented Pro-Gen technology is supposed to help tired skin to recover and re-establish its natural "youth code" so that skin looks smoother, more luminous and rested.
L'Oreal is currently running a contest in which you can win $10,000 by submitting a 2-minute video clip on what youth means to you. The details can be found on L'Oreal's Facebook page.
With Kas (Shine, Shimmer & Sparkle) and Shirleen (Women Love Beauty).
With Verlyn (Luvverly Color Playground)
Each guest was provided with a set of the Perfect Clean cleansers and Youth Code products. I'll post more detailed reviews after I've tested them out. If you have tried any of these products, do let me know in the comments what you think of them!
Both the Perfect Clean and Youth Code products are already available in Watsons stores in Singapore. The Perfect Clean display in the pic below is at the Watsons in Wisma Atria.
