foundation overview #8: Rouge Bunny Rouge Liquid Foundation Milk Aquarelle

i have always been curious about the Rouge Bunny Rouge Milk Aquarelle Liquid Foundation, and since i separated from some foundations in my blog sales, there was enough space for this new one. i ordered on zuneta.com. i contains 29ml and costs 47£. quite a hefty price tag, but i always only heard positive voices about this, so i took the risk.
the packaging is beautiful, it's similar to the packaging of the Liquid Highlighter. i have noticed though, that the bottle and the pump mechanism is the same as from the Catrice Photo Finish foundation. maybe the same manufacturer for the packaging (so it's a positive thing for Catrice, i think) - but the content is totally different, i'm sure. it comes in a lovely cardboard packaging. the frosted glass bottle has a fern leaf printed on it. the pump is nice and precise enough for liquid foundation.

this is what the official site says about it:
" [...] These same gentlest of natural phases of tone and transparency are translated here for RBR's Milk Aquarelle Foundations. Five shades of delicately creamy swathes of colour, in a mélange of stirred light, to give your complexion brightness and lucidity. Stroke yourself with innocence and comfort and watch as others sway towards you, helpless, like netted birds, caught by a sudden feeling of tenderness.

The dreamily light gel texture blends and moves with the contours of the face like a second skin and minimises imperfections to give the appearance of a flawless complexion whilst allowing your natural beauty to show through.

Packed with skin-saving protectors and botanicals including Detoxyl, a powerful anti-pollution ingredient to keep the world at bay and Bamboo, which conditions, softens and repairs the skin. Shea Butter nourishes; Panthenol imparts long-lasting moisturisation, stimulates cell regeneration and normalises skin. Egyptian Lotus and White Water Lily Flower Extracts protect, soften and fight free radical damage."

i bought it in the lightest shade "Almond Milk Parfait" and i'm lucky that it is a perfect match. it's light and has a strong yellow tint and matches my NC20(-25) skin very well. it doesn't oxidize on me. i didn't notice a scent.

it has a creamy but light and fresh consistency and blends very well. i use my damp BeautyBlender to apply it, which also helps to achieve a flawless finish, but this foundation melts into my skin instantly leaving no streaks or marks at all.
it has a medium coverage, but more on the high side of medium ;) very bright and red zits will still show through, but most little scars or redness will be concealed in one layer.
after the application it feels a bit sticky, i don't like that and was afraid that this would be a real turn-off point. but after about 10 minutes it totally bonded with my skin and felt dry to the touch. the finish is not very dewy and shiny, it's rather a satin sheen like you have just applied a good moisturiser.

this is how it looks applied: no concealer, but a sandy eyeshadow and brows done.

the name and the description of this foundation implies something quite nourishing and soft to me, so i was afraid that it couldn't be able to handle my oily skin.
i checked my mirror-self so often when i wore it for the first time (i hadn't even set it with a powder to test it's real nature), to see if i had turned into a grease-ball in the mean time... but i was proven wrong, it held the soft silky sheen on me for quite a long time without getting a glossy layer on top (after 6 or 7 hours i removed it to go to bed). i was also surprised that the coverage was still there, it didn't sink into my pores or concentrated in fine lines. and even when i blotted it, none to minimal product transferred on the paper tissue. in fact it looked almost as beautiful as freshly applied.
the other day i tested it under hot sunlight, we went for a walk in the park. this time i powdered it with a tiny amount of my Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre.
and after 6 hours of sunny weather and a good portion of sweating, my skin looked totally perfect! even better than after application. tight and even, erased pores, luminous with a beautiful shine. i think it has a lifting effect or so. i couldn't stop looking into the mirror and touching my skin. this is holy grail material!

this is how it looked after over 6 hours of warm sunny weather. great, huh?
